Windows Firewall configuration

The Windows "Firewall" feature is created to protect the computer from hacker atacks. The Middleware receives incomming TCP/IP connection from the GRD/cLAN and the firewall can block them.

The easiest way to avoid firewall issues is to disable it. But this can be considered unsafe. So we suggest adding the MW as an exception to allow in coming TCP connections from the GRD/cLAN the MW to reach it.

Windows XP

•  Go to Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exceptions -> Add Ports

Windows 7

• Go to Control Panel
• In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
• In the left pane, click Advanced settings
• In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security dialog box, in the left pane, click Inbound Rules, and then, in the right pane, click New Rule
• Create a new rule to allow inbound connections to TCP port 40000.
