The "wSerial Config" is the application program provided that is used to configure the wSerial.
This application was developed with an easy-to-use philosophy and allows configuring and monitoring of the wSerial equipment. The Configurator can be installed on Windows 2003, XP, Vista and 7.
To install it, follow these consecutive steps:
Once installed, you will see the Programs menu in the file called Exemys. Inside of it you will find another file called wSerial Config; this contains the wSerial Config, wSerial Manual and wSerial Config Uninstallation icons.
Note:With the installation of the Configurator, the wSerial USB drivers for the different operating systems will also be copied into the installation file.
The driver installation is performed in conjunction with the "wSerial Config ", meaning that upon connecting the wSerial to the PC, it should be recongnized automatically.
If for some reason this does not occur and the operating system requests them, you can locate them manually in the file:
“C:\Archivos de Programa\Exemys\wSerial Config\Drivers\"
The figure presented next shows the main screen of the Configurator.

Once the software is installed, you should not configure any parameter of the USB port since it automatically detects the COM in which the wSerial is connected..
To connect to the wSerial, the computer must be connected to the equipment through the cable described in “wSerial Models – Installation”.
To establish the connection, select the option “Open Connection” from the menu, represented by the icon
.
If the communication fails, verify that:
After a few seconds you will see on the screen a list with the devices that are connected indicating the model and serial number. To connect you only have to double click on the one you want.
If the list appears empty and you are sure that the wSerial is connected, you can refresh the list by clicking the "Refresh" button.

After double-clicking on the wSerial, we will see in the lower right corner that the status of the software changes to "Connected".

To obtain the equipment parameters, you must press the button “Read Configuration”
, upon doing this, it will download all the data from the wSerial indicating the model on the first screen, etc.
A reading of the wRemote parameters must always be performed to modify or monitor them.

|
If the Configurator is with an unknown model it will not enable any of the screens. In that case, contact us at support@exemys.comto obtain the current version of the software. |
If you wish to send any configuration change to the wSerial, you must press the button “Write Configuration”
.
To access the monitoring in which the status of all the wSerial parameters can be seen, you must press the “Monitor” button. To return to the configuration screen, you only have to press the button with the same name.
The monitoring screen that will appear depends on the equipment that we have connected, meaning that when we connect the "Concentrator", the page will show certain parameters and will show others if we connect a "Node".
Monitoring of a "Concentrator"
If connected to a "Concentrator", we will see the following screen:

In this screen, we will have monitoring of the "Device List" where we will see the "Nodes" equipment connected to this "Concentrator" and the status that they are in. Also we will be able to connect them and disconnect them by assigning an ID. Upon double-clicking on one of the equipments that are connected, we will access the same remote configuration.
We also have the "Test" option, this allows us to verify the quality of connection with a particular "Node". It sends and receives packets measuring the round-trip time.
To do this we need only to select the "Node" and click "Start", after that we will see packets arriving identified with a sequence number and the response time.
If a packet is lost we will get the message "Request Timeout "
As for the Nodes devices, upon connecting them locally or through the "Concentrator" and entering the monitoring option, we will see the connection status.
The “wSerial Config” allows us to save the configuration of a wSerial so that if we have to configure a lot of equipment in the same way, we will not have to reload the parameters one by one.
To create and save a configuration, it is not necessary to connect a wSerial, only click
a list will appear of the models that we can configure.

Then we configure the parameters and save them with “Save”
to later load them when we have our wSerial connected. The file that saves is of the type "*.wse"..
Once the configuration is saved, we can open it and load multiple wSerials by entering “Open”
.
In the same way, we can read an existing configuration in a wSerial and save it, then upload it in another.
